The first album to be released under the Detach Records label, Limbic System showcases the band's pioneering spirit. Experimental in nature yet remaining true to its popular roots, this newest effort has been warmly received in mainstream and alternative markets alike. Take the Apartment immediately entered rotation on Andy Langer's Next Big Thing, while the Shine video finds coveted airtime on the Austin Music Network. The reviews for this album reflect a new stage in the Onlys' development as critics hold the album to the very highest standards, the greatest compliment paid by far. |

The 2000 release of Tune the Blue Screen marked a new leap in the evolution of the Onlys sound. An influx of keys and traditional western steel guitar combine with spacey guitar tones and solid backbeats to produce mood-altering psychedelic rock. While the album may have fallen upon deaf ears locally, several domestic magazines began to pick up on the Onlys' exit from the garage. Imagine our surprise when whiskey made it into a Spin Magazine College Radio broadcast alongside up-n-comers Coldplay in 2000. Village Voice went on to describe the sound as "Johnny Cash with a Mohawk." |
